# Forkless Upgrades

Jur is a chain built to evolve. Web3 for States requires constant and flexible updating, so that we can always offer the best support for rapidly-evolving use cases. Jur uses substrate, enabling [forkless runtime upgrades](https://docs.substrate.io/build/upgrade-the-runtime/) of the chain.
